Issue 627 – Federal Branches

Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

President Biden’s administration is looking at using tariffs on some products from China, like electric vehicles, in an effort to both protect domestic industries, boost poor demand, and support the president’s green agenda. Tariffs on other items like EV battery packs are also under consideration.

Pray for administration officials as they consider increased tariffs, which have been a source of diplomatic tension between the U.S. and China.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

Legislation is being introduced by Representative Dan Crenshaw of Texas that would cut funding from colleges and universities that mandate that their students sign “diversity, equity, and inclusion” statements to secure admission. He called the practice “utter moral bankruptcy in higher education.”

Pray for members of Congress as they consider Representative Crenshaw’s proposal to amend the Higher Education Act of 1965.

PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES

The House Judiciary Committee has expanded its investigation into Special Counsel Jack Smith. They are seeking that all documents and records be turned over to the committee that relate to the prosecution of former President Donald Trump. Failure to comply could create the need for a subpoena.

Pray for legislators as they navigate divided political positions and the legal actions being taken against former President Trump.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

The Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals issued a temporary order ruling that the federal government cannot remove, damage, destroy, or otherwise interfere with razor wire barriers from private property along Texas’ southern border.

Pray for justice and judges in the federal judiciary as they assess and issue decisions on the president’s immigration policies and state governments’ rights on border issues.
