Representative Jim Banks of Indiana has proposed legislation in the House called the Sensible Adoption for Every (SAFE) Home Act. The bill would stop federal funds to child welfare agencies and other entities if prospective parents who believe in raising children according to their biological sex are refused the opportunity to foster or adopt.

In September of this year, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released guidance that aligned with President Joe Biden’s executive order on LGBTQI+ children in the foster care system.

Congressman Banks’ bill would countermand the HHS guidance that requires caregivers to support the self-identified sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression of children.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Representative Banks and others in Congress who seek to protect the religious rights of prospective foster or adoptive parents.
  • For God to draw the hearts and minds of administration officials to Him.
  • For children in the foster care system and the prospective parents who hope to care for them.
