What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand. – John 13:7

Have you ever heard the analogy of God’s work in your life looking like the backside of a tapestry? The threads are a mishmash of colorful strings, a seemingly chaotic jumble of knots and loose ends that give no appearance of order or organization. However, the front side is a lovely, smooth surface filled with colorful stitches that are placed in a beautiful pattern that comprises a breathtakingly scenic image. Or perhaps you have watched a painter, who begins with layers of backdrop color, and you thought the canvas looked rather boring until the artist progressed to painting the forefront with characters or structures that were readily recognizable. These metaphors reflect today’s verse, as the Creator works out His blueprint in the construction of your life. Whether or not you see the beauty that God can make of your current circumstances, praise Him in confidence and trust that He will!

As the Lord leads, pray with us…

  • For the Lord to work in and through the actions and legislation of members of Congress.
  • For the president and his administration to seek God’s direction for the nation.
