Secretary of State Expresses Concern over Russian-North Korean Cooperation

Russia is supplying North Korea with technological support and receiving military equipment and ammunition in return.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed “profound concerns” about Russia and North Korea’s “growing and dangerous military cooperation.” During a visit to Seoul, South Korea, he stated, “With regard to DPRK-Russia cooperation, this is a matter of deep concern for both of us as well as for other countries around the world, and we’re seeing a two-way threat.”

The administration has previously denounced the move by North Korea to supply Moscow with military equipment and ammunition. Secretary Blinken said, “We’re seeing the DPRK provide military equipment to Russia for pursuing its aggression against Ukraine, but we’re also seeing Russia provide technology and support to the DPRK for its own military programs.”

“And that’s a real concern for the security of the Korean Peninsula, it’s a real concern for global nonproliferation regimes, it’s a real concern for the Russian aggression in Ukraine, and a real concern for its violation of multiple U.N. Security Council resolutions,” Secretary Blinken added.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Blinken to seek God’s direction as he heads the State Department.
  • For U.S. diplomats as they engage in discussions with foreign ministers from both allied and hostile nations.
  • For wisdom for the president and his military advisors as they respond to conflicts around the globe.
