November 9th – Thursday

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. – Isaiah 55:9

President Theodore Roosevelt made the first-ever foreign trip by a U.S. president when he went to check on the progress of the construction of the Panama Canal on this day in 1906. The Americans had taken over the project the French had begun two years earlier to connect the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The canal was finished in late 1913, under President Woodrow Wilson and the first ship made its way through under its own power in January 1914. As you meditate on the Panama Canal and the cooperation of multiple nations it took to accomplish the project, pray today for U.S. officials to seek God’s wisdom as they craft agreements with international allies. Ask the Lord to show you where and how to unify with others in His body to accomplish the plans, purposes, and calling that He has placed upon your life.

As the Lord leads, pray with us…

  • For senators and representatives in Congress as they determine how American tax dollars will be allocated.
  • For the president and his advisors as they consider and greenlight various infrastructure projects and public works.
