Education Department Allocates Funding for School Diversity Pilot Program

$14 million is being distributed to schools launching new school diversity demonstration programs.

The Department of Education announced the distribution of $14 million to schools piloting the Fostering Diverse Schools Demonstration Program. Education Department data shows that American classrooms have become increasingly stratified in recent decades, with entire schools being defined by certain classes, races, and ethnicities in the student population. However, students benefit greatly from associating with members of different social groups, granting them alternative perspectives and experiences to enrich their own.

The Fostering Diverse Schools Demonstration Program has selected a number of schools to begin crafting unique after-school programs and specialized academic courses to reincorporate children of different backgrounds into everyday school life.

“Our Fostering Diverse Schools Grant program will support innovative, locally-driven efforts to Raise the Bar for academic achievement and learning conditions in our schools by providing more students with more diverse, more equitable, and ultimately, more enriching learning opportunities,” said Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for Secretary Cardona as he oversees the diversity program.
  • For U.S. school administrators and officials as they apply funding to diversity initiatives.
  • For American students as they are still lagging in the years after the pandemic shutdown.
