Our eyes look to the Lord our God, till He has mercy upon us. – Psalm 123:2

Today’s verse comes from a passage that is similar to an earlier Psalm that speaks of lifting your eyes and looking for help. The Lord is a reliable source of strength, help, and comfort (Psalm 19:7, 93:5). He is the Healer and Restorer (Exodus 15:26; Psalm 51:12). The Lord never fails (Luke 1:37; 2 Timothy 2:13). You can trust that God is at work in your life, when you turn your will and desires over to Him and seek Him in all you do (Proverbs 3:6). While events unfold in this nation and around the globe, and striving and divisions increase, meditate on the promises of the Lord and renew your mind with His Word (Romans 12:2). In your prayer time today, intercede for those in this nation who are confused or deceived. Pray for God’s truth to be proclaimed and for people to accept it and be set free.

As the Lord leads, pray with us…

  • That the Lord would accomplish His purposes through the actions of U.S. governing officials.
  • For discernment for public servants as they hold federal, state, and local office.
