President Biden Heads to Israel

The commander of U.S. Central Command is already there.

The White House announced that President Joe Biden plans to visit Israel on Wednesday in a show of support for Israel’s war against Hamas. Aides to the president said he was invited by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In announcing the president’s plans, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is in Tel Aviv, said, that the U.S. and Israel “have agreed to develop a plan that will enable humanitarian aid from donor nations and multinational organizations to reach civilians in Gaza.”

President Biden also plans to travel to Jordan to meet with King Abdullah II, President el-Sisi of Egypt, and the Palestinian Authority President Abbas.

Commander of the U.S. Central Command General Michael “Erik” Kurilla is already in Tel Aviv. He is meeting with Israel’s military leadership. “I’m here to ensure that Israel has what it needs to defend itself, and am particularly focused on avoiding other parties expanding the conflict,” General Kurilla said.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the safety of the president as he travels.
  • For discernment for the president, the secretary of state, and the CENTCOM commander as they meet with Israeli officials.
  • For the purposes of God to be accomplished in Israel and the Middle East.
