Teach me Your way, O Lord, that I may walk in Your truth. – Psalm 86:11
In the passage from which today’s verse is taken, David cries out to the Lord for guidance and protection, exalting Him as he makes his pleas. Perhaps you have found yourself in “the day of trouble” (v. 7) and have called out to the Lord. Take David’s example to heart and continue to offer God praise for what He has already done and been even as you lay your requests before Him. The Lord Jesus told His disciples, “Whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith” (Matthew 21:22). In Luke 11:9, Jesus said, “I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” David consistently asked God for what he needed, and he spent plenty of time worshiping Him for His character and previous proofs of His faithful care. Let David’s songs in the Psalms be a template for your prayers today.
