September 10th – Sunday

For our heart is glad in Him, because we trust in His holy name. – Psalm 33:21

Today’s verse is a psalm of David taken from one of his many songs that highlight the praise and thanks that the Lord is due to receive from His creation. David muses on the greatness and glory of God and the way that He knows the hearts of humanity. David encourages God’s children to sing and make music to the Lord with their voices and with instruments. He describes the creative works of the Lord and His omnipotence. Physical strength, horses, and even armies are nothing compared to God’s power. Have you taken time lately to consider the majesty and magnificence of the Lord? Have you meditated on the depth and breadth of God’s love and His faithfulness? As you continue to walk by faith today, sing for joy at what the Lord has done in your life and express your trust in Him. Let someone around you know how you have experienced God’s goodness.

As the Lord leads, pray with us…

  • That the Lord would draw the hearts of U.S. citizens and their representatives in public office to His truth and salvation.
  • For the president and his Cabinet to place their wills and lives into God’s care and control.
