Administration Announces Prescriptions Available for Price Negotiations

Ten drugs will be negotiated, with new pricing as of 2026.

President Biden’s administration has announced the first 10 prescription drugs available for Medicare price negotiations. The pharmaceuticals include those that treat heart failure, blood clots, diabetes, kidney disease, arthritis, blood cancers, and Crohn’s disease.

Congress granted Medicare this authority through the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act last year, allowing the healthcare program to directly negotiate the selling points of certain prescription drugs with drug manufacturers.

The negotiations will take place over a two-year period, with new pricing available in 2026.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Administrator Chiquita Brooks-Lasure as she oversees the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
  • For members of Congress as they determine how much authority to give the executive branch over the marketplace.
  • For the president and administration officials as they seek to lower prescription drug prices.
