We have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus. – Hebrews 10:19

When you have confidence, you feel calm, steady, assured, and you act in a manner that reflects that stability. Today’s verse describes the ability to walk up to the Holy Place where God resides, referring to the part of the temple that had been reserved for entry to the high priest alone and then only once a year. The high priest was so concerned about being in the Holy Place that he had a cord or rope tied to his ankle so that, if he were to die in God’s presence in that sacred chamber, other priests and temple workers would be able to pull his body out of there! Since Jesus has cleansed us and made us holy by the blood of His sacrifice, and is our permanent High Priest before the Father, the Holy Place is now accessible to all who believe in Him. He bore your sins and redeemed you from their penalty and restored your relationship with God that had been broken, which was symbolized in the veil to the Holy Place ripping from top to bottom at His death. Thank the Lord today for all He has done to bring salvation to His creation.

As the Lord leads, pray with us…

  • That God would turn the hearts of those holding public office, who do not know Christ as Savior, toward Him.
  • For governing officials who believe in the Lord Jesus to hold fast to the faith and live out His principles and be a witness of His salvation.
