The Lord is the stronghold of my life. – Psalm 27:1

What does it mean that the Lord is your stronghold? Webster’s dictionary defines a stronghold as a fortified place, a place of security. As a believer, your relationship with Jesus is a secure place. Challenges often arise in this life, struggles with circumstances, jobs, families, and friends. You may be tempted to run to others for guidance or help when troubles come. There are definitely times when humans are able to help with your need. But how often do you seek assistance from people before going to God? When you go to the Lord for refuge, you cannot be shaken. His fortress is immovable! The beginning of today’s verse shows that you can have confidence in God to illuminate your path, rescue you, and be your security. As you pray for godly influences upon public servants today, praise God for His faithful protection and provision in your life.

As the Lord leads, pray with us…

  • For U.S. military personnel and those who lead them as they protect the nation.
  • For the president to seek the Lord’s direction in his role as commander in chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.
