Transportation Department Announces Funding for Buses

Both electric and “traditional” buses are included.

The Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration announced that $1.7 billion will be dispersed under the infrastructure law for over 1,700 new buses around the nation.

While the president’s administration has a goal of 700 electric buses with zero emissions and 620 hybrid buses that have “low or no” emissions, 400 will be “traditional” and around 14 will be hydrogen-powered. Other programs, such as workforce training, will also be funded.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg stated, “Today’s announcement means more clean buses, less pollution, more jobs in manufacturing and maintenance, and better commutes for families across the country.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Administrator Nuria Fernandez to seek God’s direction as she heads the Federal Transit Administration.
  • For Secretary Buttigieg to be discerning as infrastructure programs are considered for investment.
  • For U.S. transportation officials to utilize taxpayer dollars efficiently and effectively.
