Issue 601 – Verse of the Week

June 29th – July 5th, 2023

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.     Galatians 5:1

How Then Do We Live?

What does freedom mean to you? For some people, it is the absence of political oppression. For others, it is the right to live as one pleases without being subject to others. No matter where one lives, in the United States or  China, each person is under some form of authority. The authority for Christ-followers is found in the words of Scripture. You are taught to submit to the Lord and what He is doing in your life. As you learn to yield to Him, you find strength and power through the Holy Spirit to withstand that which would try to enslave you. Your spirit is free to worship, free to avoid sin, free to seek forgiveness when needed, and free to pray. As you celebrate Independence Day, ask God how He wants you to use your freedom… then cheerfully obey Him.
