Issue 599 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for our Military

The U.S. Space Force is preparing to launch the “Silent Barker” constellation of spy satellites this summer, the first of their kind made for monitoring adversaries’ space weapons that can damage other satellites of the U.S. They are meant to keep watch over the growing arsenal of weapons that can be launched into space by Russia and China.

Pray for U.S. defense leaders as they seek to protect America’s national security related satellites.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

The prosecutor general’s office in Ukraine has opened an investigation into the explosion that took out a dam in southern Ukraine that flooded villages and forced thousands to abandon their homes. Ukraine estimates that 40,000 people could be affected along with agricultural sites, and they have called the incident “ecocide.” There is also the potential for damage to Europe’s largest nuclear power plant from the floodwaters.  War crimes or terrorism charges could be forthcoming.

Pray for wisdom for global leaders who are considering what terms could bring about peace.

Pray for AMERICA’S FOREIGN RELATIONS

Chinese and Russian strategic forces jointly engaged in air exercises over the Sea of Japan, the East China Sea, and the western part of the Pacific Ocean. The actions included a joint air patrol near South Korea, prompting both South Korea and Japan to scramble fighter jets to intercept any aircraft that might enter the Air Defense Identification Zone.

Pray for U.S. allies as they address the growing tensions in the Indo-Pacific region.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The American Society of Clinical Oncology introduced two studies showing potentially “practice-changing” results that reduce the risk of cancer deaths or significantly prolong survival rates. One is known as Osimertinib (a once-daily pill) and the other, Ribociclib, is primarily prescribed for breast-cancer patients.

Give thanks for research and medical advances being made that address the issue of cancer.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

In response to the rapid advancement in Iran’s nuclear program and regional aggression, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “The reality in our region is changing rapidly. We are not stagnating. We are adapting our combat doctrine and our possibilities for action in keeping with these changes. We are committed to acting against the Iranian nuclear program, against missile attacks… and against… what we call a nullification campaign.”

Pray for Prime Minister Netanyahu and other leaders in Israel as they continue to address threats from Iran.

Pray for AMERICA’S ECONOMY

The nation’s trade deficit grew in April as exports decreased while imports rose. Americans’ demand for consumer goods remains strong, keeping pressure on the trade economy. The largest trade deficit was with China, where for April the gap was $24.2 billion.

Pray for American officials who manage the nation’s imports and exports, particularly the demand for goods made in China, and for the U.S. to increase its manufacturing capabilities to compete.

Pray for Goodness in America

Dirk Smith, president of the Eastern European Mission, told the National Religious broadcasters conference how they are putting Bibles in the public schools in Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and now they are sending Bibles to Ukraine. He said the war in Ukraine is a spiritual war, and said of Russian president Vladimir Putin, “He and his regime and all those that support him are evil.”

Pray for the children of Ukraine and other Eastern European nations who are receiving Bibles, that God would open their hearts and they will respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pray for Needs Across the States

The Minnesota Legislature has approved a $200 million biomanufacturing campus to be built within 90 miles of the Twin Cities. Governor Tim Walz stated, “From the farm to the manufacturing floor, bioindustrial manufacturing holds real promise for industry, farmers, and workforce in the state of Minnesota and the nation as a whole.”

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed a bill that allocates $100 million in federal funds from the American Rescue Plan to pay for programs that address adult mental health programs. The measure is based on recommendations of a state commission charged with making suggestions for coordinated health care.

Pray for state and local leaders to aid programs that bring a benefit to their greater communities.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Our goal is to reclaim the rainbow, fully and heartily—not relinquish its meaning to the secular hordes. I don’t care if the Dodgers host Dylan Mulvaney in a nun’s habit with a rainbow wimple—no human has the power to make ugly what God has made good. That goes for all the colors of the earth and sky.“ – Dr. Adrian Gaty, pediatrician, June 2023
