Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. – John 14:1
Though you are living in troubled times, ALL of human history could be considered troubled times! There has never been an epoch through the ages when the world was not filled with war and oppression, crime, starvation, and social mayhem. Godless rebellion has run rampant across the entire span of humanity’s life on Earth.
One of the differences you face today is your 24/7 access to stories from around the globe. You can literally zoom in on any spot on the planet and discover the troubling news in that region, along with video and audio. You have a fully developed view of the human race shaking its fist at God and living with the results.
As humans largely reject God’s complete plan to redeem Creation, ideas of a one-world government and global communication are being achieved. It is possible for something to happen in one part of the world and literally have the entire world watching as it happens.
Do not be distracted by the level of trouble you see. Give God thanks that He has placed you in an age of such technological wonder. Pray for the problems you see and ask God to use the amazing innovations available to bring hope to those in need. Ask the Lord to provide the people and resources to take the gospel to any remaining unreached people groups, whether in the U.S. or across the planet. Look peacefully to the skies and know His redemption draws near.
Today’s Verse: John 14:1
Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.

The Lord is good,
a stronghold in the day of trouble;
he knows those who take refuge in him.
8 But with an overflowing flood
he will make a complete end of the adversaries,
and will pursue his enemies into darkness.
9 What do you plot against the Lord?
He will make a complete end;
trouble will not rise up a second time.
10 For they are like entangled thorns,
like drunkards as they drink;
they are consumed like stubble fully dried.
11 From you came one
who plotted evil against the Lord,
a worthless counselor.
12 Thus says the Lord,
“Though they are at full strength and many,
they will be cut down and pass away.
Though I have afflicted you,
I will afflict you no more.
