President Nominates Lt. General Haugh as NSA Head

The position also oversees the Cyber Command in the Pentagon.

President Joe Biden recently announced a new nomination for agency leadership, selecting Air Force Lt. General Timothy Haugh to lead the National Security Agency (NSA). The head of the NSA also leads the Pentagon’s Cyber Command, a digital military force where Haugh currently serves as its deputy commander.

Lt. General Haugh would be replacing General Paul Nakasone, who has served in the two roles since 2018. General Haugh’s nomination now awaits Senate review and confirmation to be officially appointed to the leadership position.
