Congressman’s Staff Attacked in Virginia Office

The assailant was looking for Representative Connolly.

Two members of Representative Gerry Connolly’s staff were injured by Xuan Kha Tran Pham at the congressman’s office in Fairfax, Virginia. The attacker asked for the congressman before wounding the staff members with a metal bat. Law enforcement had no prior history on the attacker. Fairfax police reported that an officer also sustained a minor injury.

“Both members of my team were transferred to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” Congressman Connolly said. “Right now, our focus is on ensuring they are receiving the care they need.”

Representative Connolly was not at the office when the attack occurred. He called the violence “unconscionable and devastating.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Representative Connolly and his office personnel as they offer support to the wounded staff members.
  • For federal and local law enforcement as they seek to prevent such violence.
  • That God would swiftly heal the wounds of those injured in the attack.
