Treasury Approves Funding for California High-Speed Internet

Part of Capital Projects Fund of American Rescue Plan.

The Department of the Treasury has approved $540.2 million for the installation of high-speed internet throughout California. The state submitted multiple high-speed internet projects to the Capital Projects Fund, a part of the American Rescue Plan that invests in domestic improvements at the state level. Coordinator Gene Sperling celebrated the investment with California Representative Pete Aguilar at an event held in San Bernardino, California.

“The pandemic upended life as we knew it and exposed the stark inequity in access to affordable and reliable high-speed internet in communities across the country, including rural, Tribal, and other underrepresented communities,” said Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo. “This funding is a key piece of the Biden-Harris Administration’s historic investments to increase access to high-speed internet for millions of Americans and provide more opportunities to fully participate and compete in the 21st-century economy.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Deputy Secretary Adeyemo as he facilitates the investment in high-speed internet installation.
  • For wisdom for Secretary Yellen as she oversees the Department of Treasury.
  • For Congressman Aguilar as he represents his district in Congress.
