March 23rd – Thursday

Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clean conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things. – Hebrews 13:18

When you think of honor, what comes to mind? Perhaps you think of the acclaim that comes from graduating “with honors” or maybe the judge in a courtroom who is referred to as “your honor.” The honor spoken of in today’s verse is a quality or trait that is morally upright and ethical. The characteristic of honor is distinguished by honesty, integrity, and respect. The medal of honor is awarded to those in the military who have shown exceptional bravery or valor – someone who has gone “above and beyond the call of duty.” Honor is also something that you, as a believer in Christ, offer to God. This is both a mindset and a behavior that shows the value, worth, and reverence you have for the Lord. As you go about your day, ask God to reveal ways that you can glorify Him through honorable thoughts, words, and actions today.

As the Lord leads, pray with us…

  • For the president, vice president, and Cabinet members to serve in their roles with honor and integrity.
  • For members of the House and Senate to be ethical in their dealings and uphold honesty and transparency in U.S. government.
