House Minority Members Boycott Another Border Hearing

Chairman says it is disappointing that they will not have a conversation about the border crisis.

All minority party members of the House Homeland Security Committee said they will boycott a hearing Wednesday to be held on the U.S.-Mexico border. They claim that the hearings are politicized.

The Committee Chairman, Mark Green of Tennessee, announced the meeting a week ago. It will be held in the Rio Grande Valley, and U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz and others are set to testify.

Congressman Green said, “It’s deeply disappointing that the minority members of the committee have chosen to bail on this week’s full committee field hearing in Texas, only after they invited and confirmed a minority witness for one of the panels.”

He continued, “The only message their absence sends is that they are uninterested in coming to the table to have a conversation about the devastation that this border crisis is having on Americans and their communities across the country.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Chairman Green as he heads the House Homeland Security Committee.
  • For Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz and others preparing to testify regarding immigration and border concerns.
