February 26th – Sunday

The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. – John 14:26

A group of terrorists detonated a 1,336 lb bomb under the North Tower of the World Trade Center on this day in 1993, severely damaging the parking garage and just missing the building’s poured concrete foundations. Ramzi Yousef led the attack, loading the bomb into a van and parking it in the Trade Center’s underground parking lot. When the bomb exploded, the blast killed 5 people and injured over 1,000. It also cut off most of New York City’s television and radio stations. During his trial, Yousef’s intention to have the blast to topple the North Tower into the South Tower was revealed. Had the van had been positioned in the correct area, his goal may have been possible. As you pray today, ask the Lord to strengthen those who endeavor to thwart terrorism and protect national security.

As the Lord leads, pray with us…

  • For National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and members of the National Security Council as they advise the president.
  • For Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to seek the Lord for direction as he leads the Department of Homeland Security.
