Chinese Balloon Aloft Over US

Officials theorize that it may be a dry run for the launch of an EMP.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken has postponed his trip to Beijing after the discovery of a Chinese surveillance balloon aloft over military bases in the western United States. State Department officials are calling the presence of the balloon “a clear violation of our sovereignty, as well as international law.”

“It is unacceptable that this has occurred. After consultations with our interagency partners, as well as with Congress, we have concluded that the conditions are not right at this moment for Secretary Blinken to travel to China,” a senior State Department official said.

Former Air Force Major David Stuckerberg, a leading expert on electromagnetic pulse weaponry, stated, “China’s recent balloon flyover of the United States is clearly a provocative and aggressive act. It was most likely a type of dry run meant to send a strategic message to the USA. We must not take this for granted.”

China has claimed that the balloon is theirs and said it is safe and not a threat. The Pentagon has no plans to shoot it down because it could pose a greater safety issue to those on whom it could fall.

State Department officials said the Secretary is in communication with his Chinese counterpart, maintaining open lines of communication with the People’s Republic of China.

The balloon has since moved further east, over the central U.S.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Blinken as he and members of the State Department respond to the Chinese infiltration.
  • For wisdom for the president and his advisors as they consider action regarding the balloon in U.S. territory.
  • For Defense Secretary Lloyd and officials in the Pentagon as they track the balloon.
