Senate Bill Could Ban Congressional Stock Trading

A similar bipartisan measure has been introduced in the House.

Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri has introduced the  Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments Act which would ban Congressional members from trading and owning stocks.

When introducing the bill, Senator Hawley said, “Members of Congress and their spouses shouldn’t be using their position to get rich on the stock market.”

Similar legislation, known as the Trust in Congress Act, was introduced earlier this month in the House by Representative Abigail Spanberger of Virginia and Representative Chip Roy of Texas.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For members of Congress as they consider the two pieces of legislation.
  • For God to be at work through both chambers of Congress as they work to uphold principles of integrity and honor.
