Secretary Becerra Swears In New Family Commissioner

Rebecca Jones Gaston is set to manage children, youth, and families for HHS.

Secretary Xavier Becerra swore in Rebecca Jones Gaston to leadership in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) last week, following her confirmation by the Senate a few days before. Gaston will be serving the HHS as the Commissioner of the Administration on Children, Youth, and Families, where she will utilize her 25 years of experience as a therapist and a social worker to guide HHS policy for family health services.

“Ensuring states have the resources they need to keep our nation’s families together is hard work, hard work that just got a lot easier with Commissioner Jones Gaston on our team,” said Secretary Becerra. “As Commissioner for the Administration on Children, Youth, and Families, she will be a pivotal partner as we work to improve the social and economic wellbeing of children and families across the country.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Becerra as he welcomes this new leader to the HHS.
  • That the Lord personally prepares Rebecca Gaston for this new role at the federal level.
  • That Gaston’s service blesses the families that utilize the healthcare of the Biden administration.
