Issue 579 – Verse of the Week

January 26th – February 1st, 2023

VERSE OF THE WEEK

The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.   Psalm 119:160

Stand for Truth

America’s first Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton, is often credited with saying, “Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.” While the quote’s true origin is clouded in uncertainty, there still is great truth in the statement. God’s Word has been clear on what is true and where you are to sand.  In April 1947, the Chaplain of the U.S. Senate, Peter Marshall, prayed, “Our Father, we yearn for a better understanding of spiritual things, that we may know surely what Thy will is for us and for our Nation. Give us clear vision that we may know where to stand and what to stand for—because unless we stand for something, we shall fall for anything.” In these days of dark confusion, take your stand for the truth that the lord has revealed, and do not compromise by falling for anything else.
