The Voyage

Just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts. 1 Thessalonians 2:4

Have you ever imagined yourself taking that darkened stage and speaking for those golden 18 minutes called a TED Talk (or something similar)? While, for some, it is a happy dream and, for others, a nightmare, every follower of Christ has a beautiful testimony about the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. A story meant to be told!

Your life path organically takes you across the paths of others being prepared to know you personally and witness to your relationship with God! You can be certain EVERYONE you meet is on a spiritual quest, “And He made from one man every nation of mankind… that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward Him and find Him” (Acts 17:26-27). What you cannot tell from the outside is whether their voyage is moving away from or towards God. The only way to find out is to engage and, whether or not they already believe in Jesus, your response is the same. You tell them what God has done in your life! Sharing your faith should be as natural as breathing, it is just telling your story, one you know best!

The Holy Spirit is able to take what you say and use it to enliven faith in the heart of another. Ask Him to use your words before you speak and watch Him open the conversation. God loves to work through His children. Pray that God’s people in the United States, especially those serving in government, would adopt a renewed passion for engaging with colleagues, neighbors, family, and friends, carrying the Gospel of Christ to the halls of power and to every corner of America.

Today’s Verse: 1 Thessalonians 2:4

4 And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; 5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

6 So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” 9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight
