Zelenskyy Gives Biden Ukrainian Cross for Military Merit

Two presidents honor one another in meeting.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude for meeting with President Joe Biden in the White House, saying, “It’s a great honor to be here.” This was President Zelenskyy’s first in-person international meeting since Russia first attacked Ukraine in February of this year. He also thanked President Biden for America’s continued support in Ukraine’s defense.

The Ukrainian president presented the U.S. president with a medal, the Ukrainian cross for military merit. The cross came with a letter from the medal’s original owner, the captain of a HIMARS rocket unit, thanking President Biden for the weapons systems that are defending the Ukrainian people.

“Well, undeserved but appreciated,” President Biden said, as he accepted the medal from President Zelenskyy. “You are the man of the year,” President Biden said, referring to Time Magazine’s decision to put Zelenskyy on its final cover for 2022.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
