Issue 571 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for our Military

Senator Marco Rubio of Florida and Representative Chip Roy of Texas commissioned a report that details how the Pentagon has prioritized promoting critical race theory and progressive gender ideologies as well as how these concepts are permeating militarizing policies and leadership.

A robotic combat vehicle medium is currently undergoing evaluation and testing by the U.S. Army. The Pentagon says the robot could launch a “mini” attack drone to destroy an opposing aircraft or ground vehicle, improving ground combat lethality and effectiveness.

Pray for Congress as they have yet to authorize the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act.

Pray for AMERICA’S FOREIGN RELATIONS

A new study by the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change shows that the people of Iran are “fed up” with the theocratic Islamist regime. Iranians do not just want reform, they want liberation and a regime change.

Eight Chinese cities have seen protests in the streets against the nation’s strict zero-COVID policy, chanting “no more COVID tests” and “end the dictatorship,” calling for Chinese leader Xi Jinping to resign. The protests are the largest and most widespread in opposition to the Communist Party in decades. Videos coming out of the region show CCP forces attacking protesters.

Pray for wisdom for American officials as they respond to the protests occurring in Iran and China.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

A lawsuit against the Food and Drug Administration has been filed by a number of medical professionals and organizations, alleging that the agency overstepped its authority relative to abortion drugs. “The only way the FDA could have approved chemical abortion drugs was to use its accelerated drug approval authority, necessitating the FDA to call pregnancy an ‘illness’ and argue that these dangerous drugs provide a ‘meaningful therapeutic benefit’ over existing treatments,’” the lawsuit said. “Pregnancy is not an illness,” they added.

An update from the CDC states the new COVID-19 booster shots are effective in providing additional protection against infection compared to previous boosters. Both Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech have included vaccines against the Omicron, BA4, and BA5 variants of the virus.

Pray for U.S. health professionals as they endeavor to effectively treat those suffering from upper respiratory infections, COVID, and flu.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Earlier this week, the Israeli Air Force held one of its largest military drills ever in combination with the U.S. Air Force as they simulated offensive strikes against the nuclear program of Iran. The drills included refueling exercises as the flights would be longer than those usually conducted.

Iran’s official news agency reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has published a list of “sensitive” sites, including a number of buildings that could be their targets in a future war against Israel. Israel has interpreted the list as a clear threat.

Pray for decision-makers in Israel’s government and military as they deal with increased threats from Iran.

Pray for AMERICA’S ECONOMY

According to a November survey by the University of Michigan, 4 out of 5 consumers regard the housing market as bad, while mortgage rates increase and homes become less affordable. That sentiment level is the lowest since the survey began in 1978.

According to Adobe Analytics, between online Thanksgiving Day sales and Black Friday, consumers spent a record $9.12 billion online, up 2.3 percent over last year, and above daily October averages. Sales for Cyber Monday were expected to be up 6.1 percent over a year ago—however, the percentages are not as high as the rate of inflation.

Pray for Americans as they assess their budgets and plan their Christmas gift-giving and celebrations.

Pray for Justice in America

The largest homeless shelter in Wyoming is run by a nonprofit Christian organization, which recently obtained a settlement with state and federal officials so that they might now hire only those who share their Christian beliefs. The settlement came after the nonprofit group filed a lawsuit in response to a government warning of consequences if it persisted in hiring only Christians.

Give thanks for the judges and justices who are standing up for the rights of individuals and organizations to exercise their religious beliefs.

Pray for America’s Education

Of the more than 240,000 students who were enrolled in charter schools during the pandemic, a high percentage have remained there even after the reopening of public schools. According to the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools,  those schools “are the only types of public schools that increased enrollment during the pandemic.”

Education Secretary Cardona recently announced the partnership of the Departments of Education, Labor, and Commerce on the “Unlocking Career Success” initiative. The collaboration is intended to strengthen the flow between education and stable careers.

Pray for those who offer educational alternatives to the nation’s public schools.

Pray for America’s Technology

The Federal Communications Commission has banned the sale and import of new devices produced by Huawei and ZTE. Chairwoman Rosenworcel said the new rules “are an important part of our ongoing actions to protect the American people from national security threats involving telecommunications.”

Pray for U.S. officials as they assess and attempt to protect against foreign threats to national security and personal privacy.

Pray for Needs Across the States

A new requirement for freshmen entering the state university of Delaware, “designed to help students adjust to college life,” leads them to examine white privilege with the help of a checklist, as well as sexuality, cisgender, male, and “citizenship.”

A new study, conducted in part by a professor at a state university, shows that the Michigan legislature’s increase of the speed limit from 70 mph to 75 mph on rural freeways has increased crashes by nearly 17 percent. Fatalities also rose by 63 percent, giving the legislators pause as they consider a statewide speed limit increase.

Pray for state legislatures as they prepare for the changes that will come in the new year.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

Our nation is becoming more and more violent as we reject God and His truth in increasing measure. When a society abandons God, evil and wickedness will fill the void. – Franklin Graham, president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, November 2022
