Defense Department Asks for Family Program Input

First survey about the program that supports special needs family members.

The Department of Defense announced last week that they will be conducting a survey of those enrolled in their Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP). About 105,000 active service members are part of this program, which provides support for the special needs of children or adult dependents in the families of service members. All those enrolled in the EFMP are eligible to take the survey online.

“It’s pretty exciting because it’s the first official DOD survey about EFMP,” said Jennifer Wong, a program analyst with the Defense Department’s Office of Special Needs. “It’s a phenomenal chance for families who are enrolled in the program to be heard directly at the DOD policy level.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For defense officials who manage the Exceptional Family Member Program.
  • For active duty military personnel who have children or other family members with special needs.
  • For wisdom for Secretary Lloyd Austin as he heads the Defense Department.
