President Joe Biden has declared an emergency in the state of New York, authorizing FEMA to “supplement State and local response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from a severe winter storm and snowstorm.“ In recent days, the Buffalo region received more than 6 feet of snow in some areas. Governor Hochul deployed the National Guard to assist with snow removal.

Today, Representative Kevin McCarthy of California is going to tour the U.S.–Mexico border. The current House minority leader could be the next House Speaker. He indicated that border security is a high priority, particularly considering the estimated hundreds of Americans dying of fentanyl overdoses each day. The deadly drug is being trafficked into the nation from Mexico.

President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are at the White House today. They will leave this evening for Nantucket, Massachusettes, where they traditionally spend the Thanksgiving Holiday. The president has no public events on his agenda for the day.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his administration at they consider requests from state governors and officials for federal assistance with severe weather and natural disasters.
  • For Administrator Criswell to look to the Lord for guidance as she oversees FEMA.
  • For discernment for Representative McCarthy as he anticipates the leadership change in the House.
