U.S. Aircraft Carriers Participate in NATO Showcase

French, Italian, and U.K. aircraft carriers participate as well.

The Department of Defense has begun a joint NATO operation with their aircraft carriers USS George H.W. Bush and Gerald R. Ford. The carriers and their teams will sail with other aircraft carriers from France, Italy, and the United Kingdom through the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea, and parts of the Mediterranean Sea. Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh held a briefing on this operation and others at the Pentagon on Thursday.

“These operations present an opportunity for allied nations to coordinate credible combat power throughout the Euro/Atlantic area, while showcasing NATO cohesion and interoperability,” Press Secretary Singh said. “It is also an opportunity to test allied cooperation and to practice NATO’s deter and defend concepts across all geographic areas, operational domains and functional areas of the Alliance.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the captains and crew of the U.S. aircraft carriers as they participate in the showcase.
  • For Secretary Austin to seek God’s discernment as he oversees the U.S. military.
  • For the president and defense officials as they look to strengthen ties with U.S. allies.
