President Joe Biden is traveling abroad today. He will spend much of the day in transit to Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, where, on Friday, he will attend the 27th annual U.N. Climate Change Conference (COP27). “While he’s on the ground, he’ll give a special address about our efforts to build on the unprecedented work by the U.S. to reduce emissions and advance the global climate fight, and help the most vulnerable build resilience to climate impacts,” the White House said in a statement.

“His speech will be an opportunity to set the tone for the following week, where the negotiations really get underway in earnest,” the statement continued. “He’ll have the opportunity to showcase U.S. leadership in tackling the climate crisis at home and abroad.”

Upon arrival, the president is expected to participate in breakout meetings with heads of state representing various nations.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for the president and his staff as they prepare for COP27.
  • For God to direct the conversations and discussions between the president and foreign leaders.
  • For God’s hand to be on the conference so that any decisions reached would be honoring and glorifying to Him.
