DOD Ensures Access to Reproductive Health Care

Secretary Austin releases memorandum of action items

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin released a memorandum last week that ensures access to reproductive health care for all service members and their families. The memorandum adds multiple privacy protections for service members and commits to reimbursing health care fees. It also begins the development of a program to protect Department of Defense healthcare workers from lawsuits.

“I am committed to the Department taking all appropriate action, within its authority and consistent with applicable federal law, as soon as possible to ensure that our Service members and their families can access reproductive health care and our health care providers can operate effectively,” Secretary Austin stated in the memorandum.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his healthcare advisors as they support access to abortions.
  • That Secretary Austin would be open to God’s leading as he heads the Defense Department.
  • For the Lord to touch the hearts of U.S. governing officials regarding the value of life and of unborn infants.
