North Korea Fires Missile Over Japan

President Biden Speaks with Japanese Prime Minister.

On Monday, North Korea tested an intermediate-range ballistic missile over Japan, triggering evacuations in the country and growing concern about the rogue nation’s nuclear capabilities. The missile eventually landed in the Pacific Ocean and did not cause any casualties.

President Biden spoke Tuesday with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. White House Press Secretary Jean-Pierre stated, “The two leaders jointly condemned the DPRK’s missile test in the strongest terms, recognizing the launch as a danger to the Japanese people, destabilizing to the region, and a clear violation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions.”

The two heads of state discussed a coordinated response to the missile launch, as well as ongoing efforts to bring back Japanese citizens who have been abducted by North Korea.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for the president and his foreign policy advisors as they consider responses to North Korea’s missile testing.
  • For Prime Minister Kishida to have wisdom as he addresses the threat posed by Japan’s communist neighbor.
  • For Secretaries Austin and Blinken as they evaluate the respective information regarding necessary military and diplomatic responses.
