Administration Accepting Applications for Rural High-Speed Internet

Funding is allotted through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack announced that the department is accepting applications for ReConnect Program grants and loans. The program is intended to increase access to high-speed internet for millions of people in rural America throughout the nation. More than $1 billion has been made available by the USDA to provide offer reliable, high-speed, and affordable internet. Funding was acquired under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

“Ensuring that the people of rural America are connected with reliable, high-speed internet brings new and innovative ideas to the rest of our country… That’s why high-speed internet is an important part of USDA Rural Development’s work with rural communities,” Secretary Vilsack said.
