Today, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will host former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House where the official White House portraits of the former president and first lady will be unveiled.
The official White House portrait collection has included every president since the nation’s first, George Washington. Many are on display in various White House rooms or halls.
The White House Historical Association has funded the portraits since 1965. The association stated, “The portrait artists aim to capture each unique appearance and personality, piecing together our presidential history through these individual works of art.”
