First Lady Kicks Off Apprenticeship Ambassador Program

Secretaries Raimondo and Walsh join the commencement.

Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh and Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo joined First Lady Jill Biden at the White House last week to welcome the first members of the Apprenticeship Ambassador Initiative. They spoke with the 207 ambassadors to discuss the expansion of apprenticeship programs and how best to promote the benefits of becoming a registered apprentice.

“By partnering with employers and industry stakeholders, the Apprenticeship Ambassador Initiative has produced commitments to create nearly 500 new Registered Apprenticeships programs,” said Secretary Walsh. “These results will increase our skilled workforce… equipping them with good-paying, high-quality jobs and a pathway to the middle class.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the first lady as she supports the apprenticeship initiative.
  • For wisdom for Secretary Walsh as he heads the Labor Department.
  • That Secretary Raimondo would be led by the Lord as she oversees the Commerce Department.
