Time to Fund Police, President Biden Says

This is part of his “Safer America Plan.”

During a speech in Pennsylvania this week, President Biden promoted a new crime prevention plan. “It’s based on a simple notion,” he said. “When it comes to public safety and in this nation, the answer is not ‘defund the police,’ it’s ‘fund the police.’”

The president’s $37 billion plan seeks to increase the number of police officers, reduce violent crime, and invest in services that address the root causes of crime. The president also continues to seek a ban on assault rifles. According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been 450 mass shootings in the U.S. this year.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his advisors as they craft policies to reduce crime.
  • For members of Congress as they consider different aspects of the president’s plan.
  • For the protection of federal, state, and local law enforcement officers.
