Defense Deputy Secretary Tours Midwest

Tours research facilities and speaks with university ROTC cadets.

The Department of Defense’s Deputy Secretary Kathleen Hicks toured the Midwest U.S. Transportation Command in Illinois, the Air Force Research Laboratory in Ohio, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee last week. She also visited Purdue University in Indiana, where she visited the school’s Zucrow Lab and Hypersonics and Applied Research Facility.

“The research here will not only help develop the capabilities we need to defend the nation, but it will drive progress beyond DOD for the aerospace sector and other industries, shaping the next generation of commercial air travel, space exploration, and beyond,” Deputy Secretary Hicks said.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Deputy Secretary Hicks as she cultivates cooperation between universities and the Defense Department.
  • For Secretary Austin to seek God’s guidance as he oversees the Department of Defense.
  • For Pentagon and administration officials as they collaborate with the private sector.
