DOT Provides Loan for Louisiana Highway Development

$86.6 million for 2.4 miles of interchange

The Department of Transportation announced this week that they will be loaning $86.6 million for the funding of Louisiana’s fourth infrastructure project since 2021. The project was approved by the department’s Build America Bureau, which funds infrastructure projects throughout America through Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act loans. The low-interest loan will enable the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to construct a 2.4-mile interchange between I-49 S. Ambassador Caffery and U.S. Highway 90.

“This interchange project will enhance safety, improve evacuations during life-threatening weather events, and is part of an overall improvement plan that supports job creation for the region,” Deputy Transportation Secretary Polly Trottenberg said.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That the transportation secretary would be discerning as infrastructure projects are approved.
  • For Deputy Secretary Trottenberg as she fills her role in the department.
  • For U.S. officials and contractors to utilize the infrastructure funds effectively and efficiently.
