Education Department Awards Collegiate Relief Grants

The funding will help colleges continue to recover from the pandemic.

On Wednesday, the Department of Education awarded the final $198 million to American colleges through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund. The fund distributed $40 billion in total to collegiate campuses, to assist with student resources that have been historically underfunded even before the pandemic impacted them.

“This funding from the American Rescue Plan will help HBCUs, MSIs, community colleges, and other inclusive institutions better support their students, from investing in campus mental health, to providing financial relief, to meeting housing, transportation, and child care needs,” said Education Secretary Miguel Cardona.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president’s administration as they continue to support educational recovery from the pandemic.
  • For Secretary Cardona to seek God’s wisdom as he oversees the Education Department.
  • For an effective and efficient use of the federal relief funding going to colleges and universities.
