Friday, July 15

President Joe Biden will begin his day in Jerusalem, Israel. He will visit the West Bank and meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Bethlehem.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that President Biden will announce initiatives to support the Palestinians today. These include funding to improve health care, technology, 4G digital connectivity, strengthening food security, and services for refugees.

The press secretary said, “President Biden will also announce new contributions totaling $316 million to support the Palestinian people. This is on top of the more than half a billion dollars the United States has provided to the Palestinian people since the Biden Administration restored much needed funding to the Palestinians.“

After the release of the Jerusalem U.S.-Israel Strategic Partnership Joint Declaration on Thursday, many Palestinians protested and called for today’s meeting with President Biden to be cancelled, but President Abbas has opted to meet with him as planned.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president to be discerning in his proposals of support for Palestinians.
  • For the meeting of the two leaders to accomplish God’s purposes for Israel and the United States.
  • For wisdom for the president and his administration as they endeavor to nurture peace in the Middle East.
