Two Mexicans Charged for 51 Migrant Deaths

Tragedy of heat stricken migrants goes to federal court.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) charged two Mexican citizens residing in the United States for the deaths of 51 migrants abandoned in a truck abandoned outside of San Antonio. Local authorities had discovered the corpses the day before, as well as over a dozen migrants in the truck who were still alive and sent to the hospital. This incident is now the single greatest loss of life to result from human trafficking in the United States. On Tuesday, President Joe Biden called the incident “horrifying and heartbreaking.”

“Exploiting vulnerable individuals for profit is shameful, as is political grandstanding around tragedy, and my Administration will continue to do everything possible to stop human smugglers and traffickers from taking advantage of people who are seeking to enter the United States between ports of entry,” said President Biden.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president as he and his administration to assess their policies regarding immigration.
  • For Acting Director Johnson as he oversees operations at ICE.
  • For the federal court judge hearing the case against the human traffickers.
