Saturday, July 2

Today President Joe Biden is at the presidential retreat at Camp David. He currently has no public events scheduled on his agenda for the day.

State Department Spokesperson Ned Price announced on Friday that Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas West led a delegation to meet with the Taliban in Afghanistan regarding the recent earthquakes. The U.S. is sending $55 million in humanitarian assistance to that country through USAID. The U.S. delegates expressed their concerns with respect to the Taliban’s “ongoing and expanding restrictions on the rights of Afghan women and girls” as well as the continued presence of terrorist organizations, such as al-Qaida and ISIS-K, in Afghanistan

Also on Friday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken authorized the “fourteenth drawdown of arms and equipment from U.S. Department of Defense inventories for Ukraine’s self-defense since August 2021.”

Secretary Blinken stated, “As the United States prepares to commemorate our independence, we remain committed to the independence, security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the delegates and diplomats meeting to discuss international and global concerns
  • For the president and secretary of state as they assess the humanitarian needs of other nations.
  • For God to be magnified and exalted through the assistance the United States sends to foreign countries.
