Pentagon Anti-Drone Microwave Demonstration Successful

Technology able to stop two incoming drones at once.

Last week, the Pentagon’s Joint Counter-Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Office (JCO) finished its demonstration of anti-drone microwave technology. The office had received 25 whitepapers from companies pitching their high-powered microwave devices and selected five to test. The office recorded a number of metrics throughout the tests, which are still being compiled into data to be used by both the device producers and the Pentagon.

The most effective system, made by Epirus, “was able to defeat targets in the range that is normally associated with what is currently in the field, and has the promise to be a little bit more effective in the future,” said Michael DiGennaro, the test team lead for JCO’s acquisition and resourcing division.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Pentagon leaders as they evaluate the anti-drone technology.
  • For Defense Secretary Austin as he oversees the progress of the American military.
  • That the U.S. successfully employs the technology to overcome national security threats posed by drones.
