House Holds Prescription Opioid Hearing

CEO of prescription drug consulting company testifies.

The House Oversight and Reform Committee conducted a hearing on Wednesday, where they questioned the CEO of the prescription drug consulting firm McKinsey about the company’s role in the current opioid crisis. There is an ongoing probe into the company, which found before the hearing began that 22 McKinsey consultants worked for both the FDA and the opioid manufacturer Purdue for a decade.

“McKinsey was advising both the fox and the hen-house — and getting paid by both,” said Chairwoman Representative Carolyn Maloney of New York.

The hearing is part of the committee’s investigation into the opioid crisis that has resulted in over 500,000 deaths due to overdoses of either prescription medications or illicit substances.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Chairwoman Maloney as she leads the hearing into the opioid crisis.
  • For Director Gupta as he heads the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
  • That Americans who are addicted to substances would turn to the Lord and find freedom.
