White House Launches Diversity and Equity Action Plan

Hundreds of agencies working to fulfill president’s first executive order.

President Biden’s administration revealed their Equity Action Plans last week, the result of one of the executive orders the president signed in the first hours after his inauguration. More than 90 agencies laid out Equity Action Plans simultaneously, including all Cabinet-level agencies. Over 300 strategies are laid out across these plans with the goal of investing in communities of color, tribal communities, rural communities, LGBTQ communities, people with disabilities, women and girls, and communities impacted by persistent poverty.

“Advancing equity is not a one-year project—it is a generational commitment,” the White House published. “These plans are an important step forward, reflecting the Biden-Harris Administration’s work to make the promise of America real for every American, including by implementing the first-ever national strategy on gender equity and equality.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for the president and Secretaries in his Cabinet as they implement equity action plans.
  • For federal officials to be wise in addressing discrimination and outcome-based programs.
