Three Oil Companies Refuse to Testify Before House Committee

Upcoming hearing canceled due to deliberate absence.

The House Natural Resources Committee requested that the CEOs of EOG Resources, Devon Energy Corporation, and Occidental Petroleum testify about the rising difference between oil and gas prices. However, this past week, Committee Chairman Raúl Grijalva of Arizona stated that all three CEOs refused the request to appear for a hearing. Representative Grijalva expressed his concerns with their decision.

“As rising gas prices started hurting Americans, fossil fuel industry trade groups and their allies in Congress wasted no time placing blame on the Biden administration and pushing for a drilling free-for-all. But when you look at oil companies’ record profits, these claims don’t add up,” Representative Grijalva said.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For members of the House Natural Resources Committee as they seek answers surrounding the allegations of price gouging.
  • For U.S. energy officials as they evaluate the causes for the increased cost and decreased supply of fuel.
